DescriptionPhotograph, Black and white; Official horizontal image showing damage to starboard side of the aircraft carrier USS Intrepid from a collision with USS Canisteo (AO-99), a Cimarron-class fleet oiler. The photograph was taken from a sponson at hangar deck level, and the view is looking forward. Railings and bulwarks are bent. The forward starboard gun tub is bent upwards. There are two ships in the distance on the right side of the image. The open water around the ship is calm. A white border surrounds the image.On View
