DescriptionArtwork; Horizontal color print of an original painting of the aircraft carrier USS Intrepid at sea. The print is in a brown wooden frame surrounded by a light gray mat board. The image depicts USS Intrepid from a forward, starboard view sailing through slightly choppy water. The sky is blue with numerous white clouds. Yellow exhaust smoke is trailing from the island. A thin black outline surrounds the image. A signature in white on the lower right corner of the original painting reads “T. C. Skinner. 54.” Black printed text below the lower right corner reads “Painted by Thomas C. Skinner”. A text caption centered below the print image reads “U.S.S. Intrepid // Built by Newport News Shipbuilding and Dry Dock Company, 1943 // Modernized in Newport News, Virginia, 1954”. The back of the frame has two screws and a wire for hanging. On View
