Douglas Peterson
Peterson served aboard the aircraft carrier USS Intrepid (CVS-11) as an aviator in Attack Squadron 34 (VA-34) in 1967, during the ship's second Vietnam War deployment. He flew the Douglas A-4 Skyhawk on 78 combat missions during his time on board Intrepid. After his time on Intrepid, Peterson went to Attack Squadron 122 (VA-122), an A-7 training squadron out of Lemoore, California, where he spent two years as an instructor pilot. Peterson was a lieutenant junior grade while on Intrepid, and he retired as a captain.
After leaving the Navy, Peterson worked for Wisconsin Power and Light. Peterson was interviewed for the Museum's oral history project (OHP 082).
