BiographyIsaac Wesley Keels Jr. served on board the aircraft carrier USS Intrepid (CV-11) with Fighting Squadron 18 (VF-18) in 1944. He was a pilot who flew the F6F Hellcat. On October 12, 1944, Keels was flying in the first fighter sweep over Formosa (Taiwan) during the Formosa Air Battle. He did not return to the ship. Keels was listed as missing and then killed in action.
