The Robert J. Salmanowitz papers include papers and membership cards from his time aboard USS Intrepid from 1955 to 1958. He was part of the OE Division and served as a photographer's mate.

Card, Holiday; Front of card says "Season's Greetings" and has hand colored poinsettia. Inside the card are photos of each member of the U.S.S. Intrepid Photo Lab crew, with a photo of the Intrepid in the center. The back of the card has a drawing of a reindeer and says "The card was made at no expense to the government."

Directory; Fighting Ships Photo Registry, "The largest private collection in existence // of new and old Navy and Coast Guard ship photographs." "1972" is written in red ink on inside cover.

Itinerary; Handwritten list of that includes some dates related to Intrepid's service in the late 1950s and others related to USS Intrepid Association activities. Latest date listed is 1992.

Newsletter: "Intrepid // Anniversary Edition // October 1945," Volume 3, Number 4. Envelope that kept newsletter was scanned for the notes written on it and then discarded.
