DescriptionPhotograph, Black and white; Horizontal image of Robert Salmanowitz sitting in an aircraft cart on the flight deck of USS Intrepid. He is wearing a white undershirt, trousers and Dixie cup hat. There are McDonnell F2H Banshee airplanes on the right and a Piasecki HUP-2 Retriever helicopter on the left. A temporary barrier of vertical bars are on the deck behind Salmanowitz, who has light skin and dark hair. There are a few other crew members on the deck behind Salmanowitz. A white border is around the image. The back of the image is captioned in black ink, “Robert Salmanowitz Intrepid”.
