DescriptionPhotograph, Black and white; Horizontal official photograph of the aircraft carrier USS Intrepid at sea. The photograph was taken from the perspective of a landing airplane, looking down the length of the ship from the stern toward the bow. There are a few airplanes on the flight deck. The optical landing system, commonly known as the meatball, can be seen on the port side of the landing area. The number 11 is painted on the edge of the flight deck.
