DescriptionSlide, Color; Horizontal image looking down from the island as a Vought F-8 Crusader approaches the flight deck of USS Intrepid for landing. The vertical incidence wing is raised. The landing signal officer platform is on the port side of the deck and the arresting wires are stretching across the deck. Intrepid’s wake is behind the ship. The open water is calm and the sky is blue with white clouds.Slide mount has “Made in U.S.A. U.S. Pat. No. 3,013,354” printed in yellow and “10” and “Dec 67R12” printed in black on one side. “Kodachrome // transparency // processed by Kodak” printed in red on the other side.
