DescriptionSlide, Color; Horizontal image looking down from the island on a Douglas A-1 Skyraider just after launching off the starboard steam catapult of USS Intrepid. Flight deck personnel in yellow jerseys and aircraft ladders are visble on the port side of the deck. A number, “11” is at the forward end of the deck. The open water is calm and the sky is blue with white clouds.Slide mount has “Made in U.S.A. U.S. Pat. No. 3,013,354” printed in yellow and “2” and “Dec 67R12” printed in black on one side. “Kodachrome // transparency // processed by Kodak” printed in red on the other side.
