DescriptionSlide, Color; Square image of a Douglas A-4 Skyhawk launching down the port side steam catapult of USS Intrepid. The raised blast shield is on the left. Another Skyhawk from VA-15 with bureau number, “148150” is taxing onto the starboard catapult. There are flight deck personnel wearing green, yellow and red jerseys in the center of the flight deck. The photograph was taken from the island. A crew member wearing a green jersey and earmuffs stands on the right. Visible on the island are red, green, and yellow lights. The open water around the ship is calm and the sky is blue with light, white clouds. Slide mount has “Ektachrome” printed twice in blue on one side.
