DescriptionSlide, Color; Horizontal image of a Grumman E-1B Tracer about to land on the flight deck of USS Intrepid. The photograph was taken looking down from the island. The landing signal officer platform is on the port side of the ship and there are five arresting wires across the deck. Intrepid’s wake is visible behind the ship and a support ship, possibly a destroyer, is on the left. The open water is calm and the sky is blue with white clouds.Slide mount has “Made in U.S.A. U.S. Pat. No. 3,013,354” printed in yellow and “14” and “Dec 67R12” printed in black on one side. “Kodachrome // transparency // processed by Kodak” printed in red on the other side.
