DescriptionSlide, Color; Square image of a McDonnell Douglas F-4 Phantom II on the port side steam catapult of USS Intrepid. The plane is from VF-161. The aircraft landed on Intrepid from another carrier and has been painted with graffiti, or tagged, by Intrepid’s crew. Visible graffiti include “VA 145” and VAW-121” spray painted in black and red. Flight deck personnel wearing green, red, and yellow jerseys are standing in the center of the deck. The photograph was taken looking down from the island and part of the superstructure is in the foreground on the right. The open water is calm and the sky is clear and blue. There are small black discolorations throughout.Slide mount has “Ektachrome” printed twice in blue on one side.
