DescriptionPhotograph, Black and white; Horizontal image of Marie Campoli receiving a plaque from Capt. Charles Williams Jr., commanding officer of USS Intrepid. The square plaque has Intrepid’s insignia on a white square. Campoli is wearing a dark shirt and a scarf with her hair pulled into a ponytail over her shoulder. Williams is wearing a service dress blue coat with four gold stripes on the sleeve. Both of them have light skin. There are framed prints of ships in the background. There is a white border around the image. The back of the image is stamped, “Official U.S. Navy photograph // Not for publication // unless officially released”.The plaque shown in the photograph is part of the Museum's collection (2018.58). This photograph appears in a newspaper clipping (A2018.58).
