DescriptionPhotograph, Black and white. Official horizontal image of USS Intrepid passing under the Manhattan Bridge in New York City. The photograph is an aerial view looking down at the ship and the bridge. Intrepid had just completed a modernization overhaul at the Brooklyn Navy Yard; the ship's new angled flight deck is visible. Crew members are lining the rails on the flight deck. There are piers along the East River on both sides, and buildings can be seen on either side.
