DescriptionPhotograph, Black and white; Horizontal official U.S. Navy image of a Grumman SB2C Helldiver airplane that taxied off the edge of the flight deck. The propeller, engine and front fuselage of the aircraft can be seen angled downward on top of the forward starboard catwalk of USS Intrepid. Front flaps on the engine are in an open position. In the front left of the photograph a metal grate railing can be seen extending vertically up from the catwalk. In the center and right of the photograph, metal canisters, ropes and other mechanical equipment are visible on the catwalk. On the back of the photograph there is a handwritten inscription that reads "Lo. 339 // SB2C that taxied into // cat walk" in black ink.On View
