DescriptionBag, Duffel; U.S. Navy olive drab canvas seabag or duffle bag with side canvas handle and strap. One end of the strap is attached to the bag and the other end has a black metal snap hook closure that is attached to one of four black metal grommets around the top opening edge of the bag. On the interior of the bag on the side with the handle, there is a flap of fabric that appears to be a pocket but no opening is visible. On the exterior of the bag there are three black stencils that have the same inscription located above the handle, below where the strap attaches, and at the bottom of the bag. The stencil reads: “Osburn, R.W. // 349 89 30”. A faint black stencil below the handle reads “US”. There is a black stencil on the underside of the strap that reads “Osburn, R.W.”
