DescriptionUniform, Military; US Navy blue dress jumper with white piping in three stripes along the collar, collar flap and cuffs. There are two white embroidered stars at either bottom corner of the collar flap. There is a photographer’s mate third class (PH3) rating badge patch on the proper left shoulder. The photographers mate patch is a pentagon with the base at the top and vertex pointed down. The patch has an embroidered white eagle above the photographer's mate rating insignia, which represents light being refracted through an oval lens. Below the insignia is one red chevron. There is a dark blue identification tab that reads “U.S.S. Intrepid” in white thread on the proper right shoulder. The proper left front chest has a pocket. The cuffs each have two black buttons, imprinted with anchors, and two button holes. A label attached to the exterior back, centered below the collar, has images of two anchors at the top corners. I reads: “Manufactured by // Naval Clothing Factory // 100% Wool Exclusive of Ornamentation // Name ___ // Service No. ___ // Size ___”. Handwritten on the label is an inscription that reads “R W Osburn // 137 59”. At bottom interior back hem there is a faded white stencil. Only the top section is legible: “Osburn, R.W.”On View
