DescriptionLeaflet; "A Message to American Soldiers No. 2," November 1, 1967. Green folded leaflet published by Beheiren (Citizen's League for Peace in Vietnam), a Japanese organization that encouraged and facilitated U.S. military desertions during the Vietnam War. The Intrepid Four, who deserted the U.S. Navy while serving on board USS Intrepid, are featured with a joint letter titled "Do Not Kill In Vietnam!" dated November 1, 1967. It includes a black and white photograph of the Intrepid Four.The leaflet was most likely distributed as part of anti-nuclear demonstrations that took place with the arrival of the nuclear submarine USS Plunger.
