DescriptionPhotograph, Black and white; Official horizontal image of USS Intrepid's band playing on the forward aircraft elevator (no. 1 elevator) at hangar deck level. There are crew members playing instruments with one crew member in front conducting them. They are wearing U.S. Navy enlisted work dungaree uniforms and have light skin and medium to dark hair. Instruments visible include saxophones, trumpets and guitars. Most are standing in rows with some sitting in metal folding chairs. There are wooden music stands that have a seal painted on them. Crew members looking down from the flight deck are visible at the top of the image.
