DescriptionHelmet, Flight; Brown leather winter flight helmet with yellow wool lining. Cap has a triangular visor at the forehead. On the ears, there are round covers with brown metal snaps to hold headphones. Extending below the ears are short tabs with a silver metal buckle to attach a chin strap on either side. On each of the straps are two white knotted fabric strings that hang down from the helmet and were likely used for tightening. Near the back of each ear piece is a leather loop attached to the exterior of the helmet. On the center back is a large leather loop about twice the size of the two smaller loops. The interior lining of the ears appears to be a different fabric than the rest of the helmet. A black fabric label is attached to the bottom chin back that reads “7 1/8” in yellow thread. Another black fabric label is affixed to the proper left side about an inch away from the first label. White text reads “NAF 1092 – 77 // cont. No. N156s – 18833 // H. L. B. Corp. N.Y.”
