DescriptionPhotograph, Black and white; Official vertical image of a shipyard worker installing tiles in a boiler on USS Intrepid. The shipyard worker has light skin. He is wearing a dark jacket over a white t-shirt, gloves, a head covering, and glasses. There is a card in his shirt pocket. The view of the worker is framed by the edges of the round opening in the metal boiler front. Brickwork on the back wall of the boiler is visible in the background. There is a white border around the image.

A horizontal strip of paper is taped to the bottom part of the image with the caption “Norfolk Naval Shipyard (Portsmouth) replacing tile to burner front of boiler” printed in black ink.
