DescriptionPhotograph, Color; Square image taken in one of Intrepid's fire rooms looking through an opening in one of the ship’s boilers. A man is inside the boiler cleaning the machine. The opening is round. The man, who appears to be light-skinned, is wearing dungarees and glasses. He is smiling. The exterior of the tank is light gray. There is a white border around the image. The back of the paper has, “Kodak Paper” across it and is captioned in black ink, “Firesides // boiler // scrap soot // off // water // tubes”. The word “water” is crossed out and replaces with “fire”.On View
