BiographyKenneth P. Barden served on board the aircraft carrier USS Intrepid (CV-11) from August 1944 to December 1944 during World War II. He was a pilot with torpedo squadron VT-18, flying the Grumman TBF/TBM Avenger. According to the VT-18 War History, Barden flew 18 missions against enemy shipping and ground installations. He scored torpedo hits against a Japanese battleship and a light carrier. Barden was a lieutenant junior grade.
