DescriptionSlide, Color; Personal horizontal image of a Douglas F4D-1 Skyray from VFP-162 being pulled by a yellow aircraft cart. The plane is numbered “4866 // 108”. "VF-162" and "USS Intrepid" is visible on the body of the plane and "AF" is seen on the wings. A crewmember in a deck jacket is in the cockpit holding a ladder up that is inserted in the air intake. The port side aircraft elevator is raised to the flight deck level. On the port side of the deck are yellow, blue and red shirts and crew members in deck jackets. The water off the ship is calm. Captioned by photographer/donor, “Flight deck operations: Recovery”.

Slide mount has “Dec 61” imprinted and “16” and “Made in U.S.A.” printed in red and black on one side. “Kodachrome // transparency // processed by Technicolor” and stars printed in red on the other side.
