DescriptionPhotograph, Color; Square image of a red and orange cross-eyed roadrunner bird painted on the wall at the bottom of a ship’s ladder leading to fireroom #4. The painting is an example of sailor art, painted by crew members. The roadrunner figure holds a crescent wrench in its left hand while making a peace sign. It has another tool in its right hand. A yellow ship’s identification square is above the bird. The marker reads, “B-DIV. // FR. 129-131”. The photographer is standing the deck above, looking down through a hatch at the painting. The ladder's handrails are visible. There is a white border around the image. The back of the photograph is stamped, “Print // made // by // Kodak // July 72R” and is captioned in black pen, “Entrance to #4 fireroom”.On View
