DescriptionMedal; Five service medals on a ribbon bar: Asiatic-Pacific Campaign Medal, World War II Victory Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Korean Service Medal, and United Nations Korea Service Medal.Asiatic-Pacific Campaign Medal: the front of the bronze medal has a relief image of troops landing on a beach with palm trees. An aircraft is overhead, and an aircraft carrier, battleship and submarine are in the background. The words “Asiatic Pacific Campaign” are at the top. The back shows an eagle standing on a rock with raised text that reads “1941–1945” on the left and “United // States of // America” on the right. The ribbon is predominantly yellow with white, red and dark blue stripes and a brooch back bar pin.
World War II Victory Medal: the front of the bronze medal depicts the female figure of Liberty, resting her right foot on a helmet, holding a broken sword hilt in her right hand and a broken blade in her left. The figure is centered between raised text that reads “World War II”. The back of the medal has raised text around the outer edge that reads “United States of America // 1941 1945”. In the center, there is an image of a palm branch with raised text above and below that reads “Freedom // From fear and want // Freedom of speech // And religion”. The ribbon has a center red stripe with rainbow stripes on either side
National Defense Service Medal: the front has an eagle with wings spread standing on a sword and branch of laurel below the text "National Defense" in relief. The reverse of the medal depicts a shield with 13 vertical stripes and a horizontal band at the top. The shield sits above an open wreath of oak leaves on the right and laurel on the left. The medal hangs on a ribbon with red, white, blue and yellow vertical stripes.
Korean Service Medal: the front has a Korean gateway with “Korean Service” above it. The back has the taegeuk circular symbol taken from the center of the flag of South Korea. "United States of America" appears above the taegeuk symbol, and an open wreath of oak and laurel encircles the bottom of the design. The medal hangs from a light blue ribbon with a thin white stripe down the center and a white stripe on each edge.
United Nations Service Medal (Korea): the front has the "World-in-a Wreath" emblem of the United Nations. The back has “For service in // defence of the // principles of the // charter of the // United Nations”. The ribbon has blue and white stripes and a “Korea” medal device.
