DescriptionUniform, Military; U.S. Navy officer dress blue uniform jacket. Each cuff has a gold Medical Corps oak leaf insignia patch and three gold stripes indicating the rank of commander. The double-breasted coat is dark blue. There are six central gold buttons, with three on each front panel of the jacket. The buttons have a design of an eagle with outstretched wings grasping an anchor in its talons. The edge of the button is bordered with braided rope and thirteen stars. The coat has one small pocket on the top proper left chest and two large hip pockets. There are two ribbon bars sewn to the jacket above the chest pocket. The top ribbon is for the Navy and Marine Corps Medal and has blue, yellow and red striped fabric. The bottom ribbon bar has three awards. From left to right: the American Campaign Medal ribbon is predominantly light blue with red, white, black and dark blue stripes; the Asiatic-Pacific Campaign Medal ribbon is predominantly yellow with white, red and dark blue stripes and four bronze service stars; and the Philippine Liberation Medal (upside down) ribbon is red with blue and white center stripes with two bronze service stars.A black cord hanging loop is attached to the interior back collar. The interior lining is black satin, and the lining of the sleeves is white satin. There is an interior pocket at the proper right chest. There is a horizontal access opening to the interior lining of the proper left side that has a black fabric panel with a black plastic button closure. A black label has been sewn below the pocket opening with white hatch mark threads around the perimeter and “Exclusively // Rothchild’s” sewn in the center. A white label has been attached to the interior of the pocket and reads “Mr. // Date // No.” printed in black with spaces to fill in information.
