DescriptionPatch; Division Patch. Circular patch representing the R Division or Repair Division. Patch has a blue background with an image of a sailor in a white uniform holding the aircraft carrier USS Intrepid over his head. Above the ship are three sets of indistinct crossed tools that may represent the rating insignia for pipefitter, shipfitter and damage controlman. "Keep the ship afloat // USS Intrepid CVA II" is embroidered in yellow thread around the edge of the patch, and "R // Div" is embroidered in yellow thread on a black ribbon under the sailor.
