DescriptionPhotograph, Black and white; Horizontal image of two photographer’s mates capturing footage of landings on the flight deck. The man on the left is using a motion picture camera and the man on the right has a still camera that appears to be a Fairchild K-20. Both men are wearing helmets, goggles pulled over their foreheads, and gloves. The man on the left has a long-sleeved shirt that says, “PHOTO” on it. Both men have light skin. They are standing on the port side catwalk forward of the optical landing system (OLS), nicknamed the meatball. The OLS is on the left side of the image. The photograph is taken from the flight deck looking down at the men. The tail of an aircraft is on the right side of the photograph. Another naval vessel is visible in the distance on the open water. On View
