Diosdado B. Gelle

BiographyDiosdado B. “Addie” Gelle served aboard the aircraft carrier USS Intrepid (CVS-11) as a stewardsman and dental technician striker from 1961 to 1963. Gelle was born in the Philippines and joined the U.S. Navy in 1960. After Intrepid, Gelle went to A school in San Diego to become a dental technician (DT). He served in the U.S. Navy for twenty years, including on the hospital ship USS Sanctuary during the Vietnam War. He retired as a dental technician chief (DTC) in 1980. The Museum interviewed Gelle for our oral history collection in 2022 (see OHP.228).
