DescriptionLetter; July 13, 1962, to Elbert "Gene" Austin from Ruth Ircink. The letter implies that Austin and Ruth had been dating, but Austin stopped contacting Ruth. She talks of mutual friends and what is going on in her life.

Postcards; July 18, 1962 – April 18, 1963, 8 postcards. Correspondence between Austin, Gail, and several other friends and family members. Four (4) are from Gail, one (1) is from Austin, one (1) is from his sister Elaine, one is from Gloria, and one (1) is from Jean and Duke. Gail's postcards discuss her travels throughout the United States. The other discuss everyday life and travels of Austin's family and friends. Some of the postcards were send to Austin while he was training at Great Lakes, Illinois, and some while he was serving on USS Intrepid.
