DescriptionPhotograph, Black and white; Vertical image of a light-skinned woman in a dark dress sitting on a sofa. She has a necklace around her neck and she is looking at the camera. There are two dolls on the sofa next to the woman. A round, tufted chair is in the background on the left. A table with a lamp and other items is on the right. There is a white border around the image and the top and bottom borders are scalloped. The back has “31 Dec 1961 // Miss Margaret Oakes // Stuttgart, German” written in black ink and “H176211 Polaroid”, “47”, and “8” stamped in black and blue.

Description from accompanying letter dated January 6, 1962 reads “His daughter Sue is married to LCDR Jim Keith, Aircraft Handling Officer on board Intrepid. They both asked me to stop by and visit Sue’s sister Margaret if I had time while in Stuttgart. I had time and was very much impressed with her.”
