DescriptionMedal; Philippine Liberation Medal. The medal is gold with a center shield flanked by gold arched wings on either side. The shield has vertical stripes of blue, white and red enamel. At the center of the shield is a gold sword, point up, superimposed over the white enamel stripe. The top of the shield is white enamel with three gold stars and a raised gold inscription of the world “Liberty”. The back of the medal is all gold and has a raised inscription that reads: “The Liberation of the Philippines”. The medal hangs from a red ribbon that has blue and white center stripes and a brooch back bar pin.
