DescriptionPhotograph, Black and white; Horizontal image of the back of a person in a highline chair. The man is an officer in a peaked cap. He is wearing a life jacket with “CVA” stenciled on the back. The back of the chair has a picture of an eye and the letter “I”. There is a white border around the image and the left and right borders are scalloped. The back has “7 Jan 62 // LCDR Fred Gallup highlining to 711” written in black ink and “F170115 Polaroid”, “47”, and “3” stamped in black and blue.

Description from accompanying letter dated January 6, 1962 reads “Five other photos show the USS Eugene A. Greene (DDR 711), my very first ship, alongside while steaming in the Tyrrhenian Sea, and the demonstration for 2 or 3 dozen Italian Air Force Cadets of highline procedure. LCDR Gallup is Ordnance Officer on our ship.”
