DescriptionSlide, Color; Horizontal image looking down from the island as a Douglas A-4 Skyhawk touches down on the flight deck of USS Intrepid. It is possibly from VA-34 and numbered “312”. The plane caught the second arresting wire. The landing signal officer platform is on the port side of the deck. The wake from Intrepid is visible. The open water around the ship is calm and the sky is blue with white clouds.Slide mount has “Made in U.S.A. U.S. Pat. No. 3,013,354” printed in yellow and “5” and “Dec 67R12” printed in black on one side. “Kodachrome // transparency // processed by Kodak” printed in red on the other side.
