DescriptionUniform, Military; U.S. Navy blue dinner dress jacket. The jacket is double-breasted with a gold star and four gold stripes on each cuff, indicating the rank of captain. There are six gold eagle buttons at center front and two interior hip pockets. The right pocket has two labels. A black label on the outside reads “U.S. Navy // Naval Uniform Shop // Brooklyn, N.Y.” and an anchor logo sewn in gold thread. An interior white label reads “Naval Uniform Shop // Brooklyn 32 New York // Name R K Shea. // Rank CDR Corps USN // Breast R 42 Sleeve 17 ¼ Length 20 ½ // Coat // 556197 // Del. 8/30/68 // Order No. 7588 On 1 1 // Remarks: Mess jacket blue trop // try-on at Arlington, VA.” and an anchor logo printed and written in black and blue ink. The jacket was most likely worn with U.S. Navy blue evening trousers 2018.11.03.
