DescriptionPhotograph, Black and white; Personal horizontal image of a crew member taking readings in one of the fire rooms (boiler rooms) on USS Intrepid. The sailor has light skin and dark hair, is wearing a U.S. Navy chambray work shirt, and is facing away from the camera. He is looking toward two panels, each with four gauges. He is holding a clipboard with an illegible table of values clipped on to it. On his left, there is an uninsulated pipe running from the top to the bottom of the image, with a branch coming down at the top and a valve near the bottom. On his right, there is an insulated pipe, also running vertically. More piping is visible in the background of the image. There is a white border on the image with “Sep 67” printed in black ink. Back has “7” handwritten in blue ink and a repeating watermark which reads “A Kodak Paper.”
