DescriptionCap, Service; Uniform, Military; Imperial Japanese Navy officer peaked combination cap. The hat has a gold fouled anchor device encircled in a gold and silver wreath and cherry blossom cap device. The visor and detachable fabric cover of the cap are blue. A black leather chin strap is attached to the hat band along the top edge of the visor with a small gold retaining button on either side. In stark relief on each button is a cherry blossom superimposed over a fouled anchor. The edge of the button is bordered with braided rope.The interior sweat band is black and brown leather with diagonal lines of four holes for air flow punched around the band. The interior frame of the hat is made of material similar to burlap. The interior fabric lining is black. One yellowed rhombus-shaped label is attached to the center of the interior lining. Text printed on the label is faded and illegible.
